Amplifying Leadership Profile

Do you make the people around you more capable — or do you unintentionally make them smaller? This profile measures amplifying leadership: the degree to which you build capability, grant autonomy, challenge thinking, make it safe to speak up, and develop people — versus the well-meaning habits (jumping in, keeping the hard work, over-controlling under pressure) that quietly shrink the people you lead. Items are realistic leadership situations where the easy, well-intentioned response is subtly diminishing, and the skill is recognising it. Scoring is keyed to the leadership-science evidence: empowering leadership and delegation of authority, autonomy support (Self-Determination Theory), intellectual stimulation (transformational leadership), psychological safety and employee voice, developmental coaching, growth-mindset climate, and micromanagement as a capability-suppressing derailer. Behavioural-tendency framing and equally-credible, misconception-anchored options make it resistant to guessing and faking.
