Innovation & Creative Problem Solving

Measures the ability to generate and pressure-test novel solutions and to create the conditions where innovation happens — holding ambiguity open, separating idea generation from selection, reframing problems, building safety for ideas, and protecting innovation against short-term pressure. Items are realistic innovation situations where the efficient instinct kills creativity. Scoring is keyed to the evidence: divergent-before-convergent thinking and deferring judgement, treating experiments as learning, constructive pressure-testing and problem reframing, psychological safety for ideas (Edmondson), and exploration-versus-exploitation resource protection (March). Behavioural-tendency framing and equally-credible, misconception-anchored options make it resistant to guessing and faking. A stretch band raises the difficulty. Administration time: 22-30 minutes.
