How do I stop people cheating?
Turn on proctoring when you assign — it adds an identity photo and monitoring, and returns an integrity rating with the report.
Proctoring is a switch at the point you assign, priced as a small credit addition per attempt. With it on, the participant:
- is asked for a baseline identity photo before starting,
- is monitored through their camera during the assessment,
- is blocked from some obvious copying shortcuts.
The report comes back with an integrity rating — high, medium or low — and, where anything looked unusual, a short written review of what was observed. You are given evidence and a judgement, not a verdict: a medium rating is a prompt to look, not a conclusion that someone cheated.
Design does some of the work too. Where results carry real consequence, our assessments include quality-check items, and aptitude assessments draw from large item banks so no two candidates see an identical paper.
When to use it. For hiring and for anything certifying, turn it on. For internal development, we usually advise against it — being watched changes how people answer, and honest answers are what make a development report useful.
